Gluten Free Sourdough Burger Buns

Super soft bun, but they hold up to the messiest of burgers or sandwiches. A perfect addition to your backyard BBQs and picnics.

It requires a certain kind of mind to see beauty in a hamburger bun. -Ray Kroc

If you’ve been eating gluten free for a while, then I am sure you have experienced some pretty bad buns throughout your eating adventures. When I was first diagnosed with celiac, restaurants didn’t even know what gluten was, let alone have GF substitutions on their menus. Now, it is nice they try to accommodate all of the GF needs, however, the GF buns usually fall short on taste and texture and have undesirable ingredients. Not to mention, GF buns seem to disintegrate as soon as any kind of condiment or juice (from meats or pickles for example) soak into them. I for one, have just stopped ordering a GF bun and just get the burger or sandwich innards. The buns are simply not worth it.

I present to you, the perfect burger bun. This gluten free sourdough bun passes all the tests. It is super soft, yet holds up to the messiest of sandwiches. It has quality ingredients that won’t cause your stomach to feel bloated or yucky from non-food ingredients. The dough is mixed and baked in the same day, so you have fresh buns for your evening cookout. You can make them to your preferred size, so you can have anything from sliders to huge 1/2 pound burgers. The buns last for about 5 days. They need to be refreshed with a quick warm up, but they soften beautifully. I love them for burgers, breakfast sandwiches and piled high club sandwiches.
